Play Platform

The newest addition to our range of play equipment. This bespoke play platform brings all the fun of an adventure playground to this garden in Teignmouth.

Built to incorporate an existing bank and large Oak tree, this play platform makes maximum use of the space.

To begin the project we levelled the ground below to allow for a lower platform to be installed. The main support of the platform is pressure treated 100mm x 100mm posts, installed using concrete and post shoes to create a stable and level base, with a 150mm x 50mm framework, supported with joist hangers.

The main platform also incorporates a new featheredge fence, which provides both privacy for the whole garden and a safety barrier from the adjacent road. The platform was finished using decking boards, giving it a non slip, well drained surface with safety rails and banisters protecting all sides and stairways. Safety grip handles are also installed throughout the structure.

The lower platform and felt roofed area on the main platform give some weather protection and the oak tree provides natural shade during the summer, making this a usable space year round.
