Driveway gates are an important feature for any property, they can provide varying levels of security and are available in a variety of styles to perfectly compliment your home or business. Here is an example of our Idigbo driveway gates.
Construction And Design.
A kiln dried Idigbo which is a hardwood was used to construct these gates. Our hardwood driveway gates are solidly built with mortise and tenon joint work throughout. They are finished with 19mm tongue and groove boards. We also ensure our gates are properly supported by using fabricated gate strengthening supports. This helps relieves stress off the timber joints .
Site Preparation
The gates were to be mounted on existing stone pillars. The stone pillars were uneven so needed to be modified, to create an even surface for the hanging posts to be securely fitted.
Security Features
This gate includes a keypad operated lock for added security. The closed panel design aids in privacy and strength.
Finish
The gates were stained with three coats of a Sikkens exterior wood preservative. We have used the HLS as the base coat and filter 7 for the two top coats, as to the manufacturers guidelines. The staining will provide weather protection and a stunning finish.
